Editorial policy

How content on Sustainable Energy World is chosen, sourced, and corrected.

Draft — to be reviewed by the editor

How topics are chosen

Topics are selected where sustainability rules, standards, and technology are changing and where professionals need a clear, current explanation: new and amended regulations, updated standards, developments in life cycle assessment, and emerging clean-energy technology.

Priority is given to topics that affect decisions in practice, such as reporting obligations, compliance deadlines, and measurement methods, over topics that generate attention but have little practical consequence.

Sourcing

Every article is grounded in primary sources: the text of regulations as published by regulators, documents and definitions from standards bodies such as ISO and IEC, and peer-reviewed research where scientific claims are made.

Secondary reporting is used to understand context, never as the sole basis for a claim. Technical articles list their references at the end of the piece so readers can verify each statement independently.

Independence and conflicts of interest

The platform is independent. No payment, sponsorship, or commercial arrangement influences what is covered or how it is characterized.

Where the editorial team has a relevant financial or professional interest in a topic, that interest is disclosed in the affected article.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may assist with research, drafting support, and editing, but every article is written, checked, and approved by a named member of the editorial team before publication.

AI tools are never treated as a source. Any factual claim in an article is verified against the primary sources listed in its references.

Corrections

When an error is found, the article is corrected and the change is noted transparently at the bottom of the piece, with the date of the correction.

Readers can report errors at any time using the contact address on the contact page; reports are reviewed and answered promptly.
